Foundi Imathia dry white 2021

The Foundi Imathia Dry White 2021 is a unique and full-bodied white wine, produced from the Xinomavro grape variety, traditionally known for red wines. This grape is cultivated in the Naoussa region of Imathia, Greece. The process involves careful pressing of the grapes to extract a small quantity of juice from the inner white flesh, which is then fermented in new French oak barrels at a controlled low temperature. The wine is aged in these barrels until it reaches full maturity, resulting in a rich aromatic profile that harmoniously blends natural Xinomavro fruit and white flower aromas with barrel-induced notes of honey, nuts, coffee, chocolate, and smoke. The wine is noted for its golden color, complex bouquet, full body, and peppery notes, leading to a long finish. It is also one of the few Greek white wines that benefits from bottle aging.
